      Feng Shui for Skeptics

But just because we can’t explain it does not mean it is not real. There are many examples where Western science knowledge continues to evolve, and can now explain things previously unknown.

For example, those of us who went to school in the 1970’s or earlier learnt that atoms were made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons. It was only in the 1980’s that scientists discovered these are in turn made up of “Quarks”. Now they talk about massless particles like photons and the like. The knowledge is still developing.

Or what about gravity? We know it exists, because we see and can measure the effect. But what generates gravitational force? Scientists have theories, but no explanation. For example, look at https://spaceplace.nasa.gov/what-is-gravity/en/.
Or try Googling “Why does gravity work”.

And how about Neutrinos? Scientists now tell us these are particles so small they pass right through us undetected. But they can’t describe what impact this has on our bodies, or our surroundings, or how they change over time. Except that it happens.

So there are a number of aspects of nature, and our world, that Western Science can not explain. Perhaps one day we in the west will be able to explain “Chi”, and how it interacts with the earths magnetic field and other yet to be measured forces to explain why Feng Shui works .
But in the meantime, just accept that it does exist, and that over thousands of years of careful research Chinese practitioners have observed complex repeating patterns linked to changes in the earths position relative to the other major planets, and the stars. From these observations they have developed rules on how they can be managed for best effect.

So just accept that you have your own unique “energy” signature, that “chi” is all around us, and get on with applying the Feng Shui principles to your life.
